Polarization analysis
The vertical-horizontal asymmetry presumably arises from asymmetry
in the visual and/or oculomotor systems, the "physiological axes."
These may be fortuitously aligned with our stimulator and tracker
coordinate systems, but can we measure them?
The stimulus and eye movement trajectories may be re-expressed in
rotated coordinate systems.
We expect HIGH correlations between target motion in a given direction
and eye motion in the SAME direction;
We expect LOW correlations between target motion in a given direction
and eye motion in the ORTHOGONAL direction;
